PianoFest in the Hamptons ‘19

A little postponed, but just needed to say again how wonderfully special this summer was in the Hamptons - making such incredible music and friendships and memories.
From cooking together for 15 people and doing team chores, to the bonfires and s’mores on the beach, the game nights, the inspiring concerts, the nonstop sightreading parties, lazing at the pool, indulging in all the delicious foods and wines … and of course, especially the countless derpy, simple, silly, endearing moments that are discovered in just living everyday life together - it really was an one of a kind, unique experience.

So grateful for this big family and for building these meaningful relationships with such talented musicians with awesomeeee personalities :’) … oh all the fun we’ve had, all the stories … what a privileged life we live to be artists and musicians <3 constant adventures and discoveries alongside the struggles and challenges and hard work. It’s always always worth it. The people we meet, the places we go, the music we share, the inspirations and energy and passion and life … So grateful.

Enjoy some Prokofiev Cinderella magic!

Here’s a little blurb from our interview with the EastHampton press:

Easthampton & South Hampton press:

Canadian pianist Tong Wang, a native of Alberta who now lives in Montreal, explained that while life at a conservatory is often a series of classes punctuated by meals eaten in large, impersonal cafeterias, Pianofest is structured so that even the most mundane tasks become a bonding experience.

“We become family by sharing every part of our lives together,” she said. “From the moment you wake up, you’re washing dishes together, getting groceries, planning meals and doing the cooking. It brings the family environment together.”

“There are fascinating personalities, great passions and interests,” Ms. Wang added. “It’s a diverse group. People have serious interests outside of music. We have serious conversations and silly conversations, both.”
