“Once Upon a Pumpkin” is a musical fairy tale that traverses through fantastical worlds. Be ready to meet Kai (Piano no Mori), Cinderella, Lenore, Snow White amongst witches, fairies, and vampires on a magical journey full of enchantment, love, drama, mystery, and adventure. Featuring works by Mozart, Prokofiev, Liszt, and Wild.
I did another thing.
I gave a lot of my heart and magic. So - love, imagination, passion, courage, dreams, … an invitation - to explore, connect, and discover life and art together.
At the age of 19, Mozart was already considered to be in his mature years when he composed his first group of six piano sonatas in 1775. These virtuosic works are full of the energy, drama, and witty humor that is distinctive of Mozart’s voice. At the same time, they have moments of deep expression and intimacy. The third sonata in B-flat major has the only slow movement with the marking Andante amoroso, and the second sonata in F major is the only piano sonata with a slow movement written in a minor key.
My solo recital will be on October 30, 2021 @5PM in Redpath Hall. Magic and fairy tales, of course. Halloween. Macabre. Princess and dwarfs. Please join me for this enchanted autumn adventure~
It’s the process, the noticing. That’s what we as artists are there to serve, as a portal to guide and facilitate this curiosity, imagination, attention, discovery. So how can I ask of your attention? That’s what I’m trying to find, what are the ways I can facilitate my audience entering into this magical world with me, to notice, to feel, to be filled with awe and wonder.
Not everyday we feel things, but it’s okay.
I still believe in magic and I love fairy tales.
How do we play music when we feel depressed and empty? Not sure. Sometimes the music reminds something within us, I hope. I hope something sparkles. I hope we notice the sparkles. Here are some glittering Disney tunes and derpy dwarfs.
