Schubert's "Trout" Quintet

2020 has been a thought-provoking, eye-opening, reflective, personal, intimate, challenging, peculiar, special, memorable year for many people in vastly unique ways. Myself, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that arose even while others were reft. Family, routines, rituals, peace, calm, quiet, more and more space to listen and hear, more deeply, more inwardly - sounds, ideas, nature, emotions, gratitude.

I think Schubert perfectly captures this spirit of the mind and heart. The joy in simplicity.

Beethoven "Tempest", a little boozy

The "Tempest" was one of the first Beethoven sonatas I studied with my teacher Boris Konovalov - without whom I don't think I would be here still passionately pursuing and believing in this career. It's always a special experience to rediscover a piece that has simmered inside us while we grow as people and artists. This was a really personal and meaningful way to conclude my time at LAMP 2020. Thank you, for the millionth time, to everyone involved to make this happen.

"Emote, a time capsule"

“Emote, a time capsule” is an experimental performance installation of the sounds, images, and words of a fictional heroine, Sophie. Living in a dystopian society, Sophie is a paradoxical artist who indulges in her cynical yet sentimental self-reflections. She works in a corrupt industry that commodifies and sells the experience of emotions through live actor simulations. As a writer for a company specializing in ‘romantic sentimentality’, Sophie creates personalized archaic fairy tales and love stories for her clients. The installation represents the digital memory box in which Sophie scatters her collection of music, voice, and sound memos, journal entries and poems, short films, and sketches and photographs. Over the course of 3 weeks, this interactive project will be performed digitally using a website and social media platforms. It will be divided into two sections: ‘static’ and ‘live’.

I am so thrilled to share that my solo recital program, “Homecoming”, has been chosen as a winner for the Nordic Strings Academy’s International Music Competition for "Concert Tours to China"!

For 10-20 days, I will be touring with this program at major concert halls across China. This is such an exciting and special project for me - full of the passionate Russian repertoire closest to my heart as well as new commissions by two of my closest friends. I am incredibly honoured and grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to share this amazing music with a new audience!
