“Fantasy and Memory”

In Greek mythology, Mnemosyne is the goddess of memory and the mother of the nine Muses. The term Mnemosyne is derived from the Greek word mnēmē, which means "remembrance, memory". “Fantasy and Memory”  is an experience that explores the power of music to elicit ‘nostalgia’. The program features Scriabin’s and Dvorak’s piano music and collaboration with 3 local Nova Scotia poets (Carole Langille, Janet Barkhouse, and Michelle Elrick) who will be reciting their poems before the Scriabin Mazurkas.

Remember to Remember. This is what Old Man said to me one time. Returning myself to innocence, my original power. Remember to remember. He meant for me, throughout my day, to recall that I’ve taken the time to pray, to give thanks, to ask for a return to humility. Remember to remember. When I do that, everyone and everything I encounter becomes the beneficiary. It’s a good teaching - as long as I remember.
