Windwood Music Festival Mini Edition Salon Concert

  • Windwood Music Festival 138 Windwood Grove Southwest Airdrie Canada (map)

What is a salon concert and party?

Well, there shall be cheese and wine (and beer! and cookies and chocolate and juice for the younglings!), there shall be laughter and good company, AND, lots and lots of fantastic music! Check out our photos from last year!

We are hosting this special house concert to fundraise for the upcoming Windwood Music Festival in August 2023.

What we adoringly call a ‘salon’, is one of our favourite ways to celebrate music and community - with a party! In the intimate, casual, and cozy setting of our musicians family’s Windwood Residence home, we’ll drink, eat, and enjoy each other’s wonderful company and music making.

All are welcome to this fun Friday night neighbourhood gathering! Feel free to dress up or down and come in your fanciest gowns or pyjamas!

Please RVSP early here as space is limited to 25!

Can't wait to see you all again!

BECOME A PATRON OF THE WINDWOOD MUSIC FESTIVAL!

Community support is crucial to helping Windwood Music Festival cover operational costs such as instrument transportation, artist travel, rehearsal and venue space, concert production costs, event marketing, and insurance. We welcome any level of involvement from the community, whether it be financial contributions, in-kind support, or volunteering your time to help us at our events.

After a successful pilot in 2022, this year marks the first official year of our festival. We've experienced many challenges but also beautifully heartwarming moments thanks to the community’s generous support and involvement. Any assistance you can offer is deeply appreciated. We plan to grow this beautiful initiative annually ― we are already learning so much and so look forward to making more wondrous memories with you!

Tong Wang and Maitreyi Muralidharan first met as bunk mates at the Brevard Music Festival in 2012, and promptly lost contact, watching and supporting each other’s life journeys from afar. 10 years after, they rekindled their friendship in Montreal, where they decided to work together as part of Trio Eudaemonia. Their similar approaches to music and art as a window into a beautiful world of connection, passion for food and community building, and love of working together sparked the beginnings of Duo Perdendosi. Both coming from conservatory backgrounds, they recognized a need for classical and contemporary music to move away from convention and towards connection. In 2022, they created the Windwood Music Festival in order to collaborate with like-minded artists and show how to connect a community through sharing the power of music to connect land and people. Maitreyi and Tong have performed in Canada and Germany and will embark on their first tour, “Da Capo,” in April 2023. Outside of performing, they enjoy cooking, writing, and each other’s company.
